What's
New
Waxing Harvest Full Moon Time.
The full moon is energetically my strongest
time, I've noticed. For some it's the opposite. For me I feel
more energized naturally and get so much more accomplished during
the waxing stage of the full moon. This makes sense because this
is the time for manifesting what we desire. Accumulating and
sharing. The waning stage is all about releasing and letting go
of all that no longer serves you. So for this week, till Thursday
the 19th, work on your strengths and putting out there to the
Universe your desires. Beware of the enhanced energies as well.
Whatever is in your awareness will be exacerbated by the full
moon energies. Be it good thoughts, experiences, people and
energies or the not-so-good. Become more present, more diligent
about your surroundings and your thoughts. Share the good
overflowing energies in the divine expression that is right for
you. May you feel the blessings of this Harvest Full Moon.

Last month I shared the Sun Salutation A sequence.
This month we expand on this Vinyasa sequence. The Sun Salutation B
sequence is built off of the traditional Sun Salutation A sequence,
the most common and widely used vinyasa out there today. (Click
on the image to the right to see larger in a higher resolution.)
Literally translated as "bow to the sun". This sequence
is great if you have low energy or poor circulation. As yoga
teachers, we will build off of this sequence into even more
dynamic or complex sequences to focus on certain areas of the
body for our goals in each individual class.
Even the most experienced Yogi and Yogini have
difficulty with some of the poses held in the Sun Salutation. You
may modify this sequence, for example, by placing the knees down
on the mat for Chaturanga and Runners Lunge (low lunge) or
skipping Chaturanga completely if you have Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome. This sequence is great for warming up the entire body,
as well as strengthening and stretching. It is recommended to we
practice at least six rounds of the Sun Salutation daily,
preferably in the morning when we are more energized.

I Forgot I Had the Choice
I forgot I had the choice all along. :) We are
powerful creators of our lives. The exact vibration or frequency
we emit to the world we receive back to us. Law of Attraction 101,
right? :) And it is so darn easy to "forget" that. We
sometimes fall back into, what I like to call, 'unconscious land'. Life can so
easily pull us off track and muddle our thoughts, if we're not
careful and diligent. Clear thinking becomes difficult. Life, in
general, becomes more challenging.
I have a little back-story to this epiphany that I
keep having to learn and relearn. Someday I will master this but,
like you all reading this, I am human. You see, I get it, because
I'm living it too. I am right there with you in the trenches. We
*will* make it through.
My lesson began with a little carpal tunnel issue.
I hadn't had that for over a decade. A co-worker suggested it was
part of a larger issue: hypothyroidism. I was hoping for
something that was no big deal but when I went to the doctor to
confirm this through blood tests, it did turn out that I have
hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's to be exact). Unfortunately, it had
gotten so bad, the signs and symptoms too varying it's very hard
to detect, that the under-active thyroid created nodules in my
thyroid.
